A seasonal nutrition and yin yoga workshop to cultivate stillness and a calm vibrancy within the new year.
Sunday, January 7th
10am-12pm
Only 10 spots available!
This course is an afternoon of learning and guided yin practice celebrating the elements of winter and all it has to offer. We will nurture both our tissues and our bodies with a yin yoga practice and by learning how and what to eat during this slower, cooler season.
The workshop will begin with a seasonal journal prompt followed by a lesson on nutritional support for the winter season with inspiration as we begin a new year. This will be through the lens of traditional Chinese medicine and functional nutrition. We will finish our gathering with a 60 minute yoga practice for those yearning for some stillness and rest for the mind, body, and spirit.
Yin yoga is a still form of yoga which helps nourish and hydrate our connective tissues, soothe our nervous system, and cultivate resilience. It is the perfect compliment to our active lives and pursuits, giving us the allowance to slow down. During our practice, we will passively linger in poses for three to five minutes, with the support of yoga props, to marinate in all the benefits this practice has to offer. Once in the pose, we use simple, guided techniques to support the mind and body to relax and relinquish. Much like the quiet stillness after a winter snowfall.
This practice is a form of needle-less acupuncture, unkinking any energetic blockages that can occur in our bodies to enhance our organ systems and digestion.
This workshop is designed for all ages and stages of yoga practice, including those new to yoga! Practice will be in community with others in the delightful Lagom studio space.
Let's gather together and re-calibrate once more as we enter 2024.
