Unfurl & Inspire: Yin Yoga + Breathwork to Awaken into Spring

Unfurl & Inspire: Yoga & Breathwork to Awaken into Spring with Alyda + Melina

Connect with your unique potential to transform and embrace new possibilities through a gentle yoga sequence designed to stimulate the muscles that empower your breath, followed by a conscious breathing technique that creates access to expanded states of awareness and self-reflection.

Sunday, April 28th
2-5pm
at Lagom Studios

Conscious connected breathwork is a self-healing technique that supports access to the fullest potential of the breathing system for increased well-being, interconnectedness, and self-exploration. In this experience, you will be guided in a 3-part breathing pattern: two balanced inhales filling the abdomen then chest, followed by a relaxed exhale; along with opportunities for breath retention to blossom beyond the perceived limits of your potential and unlock deeper states of self-reflection. But first, we'll prime our bodies with gentle movement to unfurl from the winter months and warm the breathing muscles for this expansive work.

Meet Alyda + Melina

Alyda O'hUigin

Yoga teacher, Breathwork facilitator, Reiki practitioner. Alyda began her physical practice of yoga in 2006 when she deeply connected with the disciplined movement and focus on breath during a period of instability and uncertainty. She completed 200hr yoga teacher training in 2019 and graduated from 200hr Rasa Teacher Training with Greta Hill in 2024. She is a graduate of Tai Hubbert's breathwork facilitator training where they focused on a style of conscious connected breathing that supports access to expanded states of awareness. Alyda combines the benefits of these modalities and holds a nurturing container where it's safe to be in your experience and move through the expressions that arise while you reflect on your evolutionary journey. She also enjoys evolutionary astrology, cycle synching, and connecting in community.

Melina Moore

Melina is the owner of Lagom Studios (hi!), Pilates instructor, Reiki practitioner, and trauma-informed Breathwork Facilitator.  She came to breathwork as a way to heal from anxiety and trauma, and to connect with the deeper dimensions of her body, mind, and spirit for personal insight, growth, and self-discovery.  She combines her love of breathwork and reiki in her new 90-minute individual Breathwork Journey sessions at her second studio, Hygge by Lagom Studios.  Learn more here!

All About the Breath: a Pilates/Yoga workshop

If you enjoy the way Pilates connects you with your body, you’ll love our upcoming workshop all about the breath.

The first thing a baby does? Draw a deep breath. So you must have the knack for it! But have you practiced consciously breathing lately? When an instructor tells you to “deepen your breath” or “breathe into your lower ribs”, are you entirely sure what that means?

Using Pilates props, periodic check ins, and some fun yoga-style breathing exercises, Janine will help you find the size and shape of your “tank” (aka, lungs). Intentional breathing is known to create calm, connect you with your body, and enhance your Pilates practice. Joseph Pilates would be the first to agree. He once said of breathing, “Our very life depends on it.”*

Spend just 90 minutes at this workshop, and you’ll walk out feeling calm, light, and finally able to find that “deep” breath your Pilates instructors are known to mention.

For beginners as well as advanced practitioners.

No experience necessary! If you’ve got a pulse and you’re breathing, we welcome you!

Praise for Rachel!

Rachel is very proactive, approachable, and knowledgeable! We worked with her for about a year with our son through in-person classes, phone consultations, and virtual sessions. She offered personalized one-on-one assistance with strategies and ideas for sitting up, rolling over, crawling, walking, and more. She always check-in to see how our son was developing and if we had any other concerns. Her expertise, advice, and tips were always very helpful. At first, we were a bit concerned about our son’s slight delay in gross motor skills, but she always gave us confidence to be able to assist him and now we’re so proud that he has a strong set of fundamental skills that will help him as he continues to grow.
— Jane, mom of a 1 yr old
Rachel’s infant massage class was wonderful! We practiced on dolls when I was 9 months pregnant. I learned a lot by emulating the strokes on a doll, and I’m feeling excited to try them on my soon to be newborn baby. I know first hand the benefits of healing touch from years of practicing massage on clients and receiving massage therapy. Taking these skills to my own baby feels that much more perfect and rewarding. Rachel is a patient and kind teacher and her years of experience in working with children and babies is evident in the knowledge she shares throughout the class. It was also helpful that she includes a reference book with the strokes to take home. I am looking forward to a follow up class with Rachel after the baby is here to help support baby, my partner and I in our transition in getting to know baby’s needs. I think massage time will be a very special bonding time for us. Thanks Rachel
— Jen, soon to be first time mom
have known Rachel in a professional manner that grew into a lasting friendship. I was lucky to be guided by her throughout my career as a child developmental therapist and to witness daily her passion for children and families. She is bright, caring, and a natural giver. People adore her; especially my now 5 year old twins she helped to care for. I would highly recommend her for any developmental needs!

Fueling Your Body for Vitality

Sea + Spruce Nutrition x LAGOM STUDIOS

Fueling Your Body for Vitality:
Unraveling the Power of Functional Nutrition for Energy, Strength, and Resilience

In today’s world, most women are settling for feeling mediocre most of the time. Some symptoms that may be under the “feeling mediocre” umbrella are symptoms like low energy, brain fog, low mood or anxiety, digestive issues, poor sleep, hormonal issues (+ many others). The problem is that these symptoms have become the norm, when they are really signs that the body is out of balance and needs nutritional support. When it comes to addressing these symptoms, our conventional healthcare system often focuses on "band-aid" treatments instead of root-cause focused, long-term solutions.

Fortunately, Integrative & Functional Nutrition is a custom-tailored approach to health that looks at underlying nutrition-related causes and focuses on progressing towards wellness versus managing illness/disease. This kind of approach not only uses the latest science to get your body to its healthiest state but is also empowers you to create your best state of health.

You’ll learn:

● What Functional Nutrition is, how it’s different from any conventional “diet” or nutrition recommendations you’ve heard about

● How specialty, evidenced-based testing can be used to help improve energy levels, exercise performance, digestion, hormonal balance & several others

● Christina Stapke, RDN’s 9-Step Vibrant Health Protocol to support health & wellness

Tech Neck Workshop

Tech Neck Workshop

Tech Neck is the buzzword for "Forward-Head Posture" that is characterized by frequent use of electronic devices that results in an imbalance of our neck muscles. This causes degenerative changes in our cervical spine, leading to chronic neck pain, tension headaches, and decreased ability to maintain a correct posture.

In this workshop, you will learn specific exercises that you can do at home on a regular basis to counteract the forward head posture and even correct imbalances in your cervical spine so that you may achieve optimal alignment of your head and neck!

Spring Equinox Sound Bath
Mar
19

Spring Equinox Sound Bath

Sound baths are a meditative practice involving the use of resonant vibration from crystal and Tibetan singing bowls. This creates an immersive experience where sound fills the room and body with the intention of relaxation and restoration. This ancient healing technique uses frequencies to bring the body into a state of vibrational balance and harmony. Sound frequencies slow down brain waves to a deeply restorative state, which activates the body’s system of self-healing.

When we are in harmony with ourselves this changes our experience of the world. We become more at ease, less reactive to life, and more present to ourselves and others around us.

What to expect:

Participants rest comfortably on a yoga mat by lying down or sitting up and are bathed in the transformative sounds of Alchemy and Tibetan singing bowls.

What you’ll need:

Yoga mat, blankets and/or pillows.  Anything that makes you feel comfortable when you’re on your mat. Dress warm as your body will cool down lying in a meditation state for some time.
